Overview KPMG is seeking an Associate General Counsel within the Firms Litigation & Investigations Group supporting the Practice Protection Team. The firm provides audit, tax and advisory services and emphasizes individual development, inclusivity, and community support. Responsibilities Provide counsel on actual and threatened civil litigation where the Firm is a party, regulatory or government investigations or inquiries, or responding to subpoenas or other legal process where the Firm is not a party. Represent KPMG and its professionals in civil litigation proceedings and regulatory investigations; provide legal advice to the Firm and its leaders related to issues arising in those proceedings. Develop, implement and manage strategies to defend litigation claims and regulatory investigations and bring them to a cost-effective resolution. Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel and other members of OGC to deliver high-quality legal representation. Report to and consult with senior legal leadership on issues arising in litigation and regulatory matters. Develop financial projections and ensure cost-effective management of matters. Qualifications Minimum of fifteen years of experience working on complex civil litigations and regulatory investigations involving accounting firms in well-regarded law firms, in-house legal departments, or at relevant regulatory agencies (e.g., SEC, PCAOB, DOJ). JD or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S., including in the state of office location. Ability to manage multiple litigations and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables, and demonstrate strategic thinking in sensitive situations with high ethical standards. Strong analytical, writing, oral advocacy, interpersonal, communication and client counseling skills; C-Suite presence. Experience leading teams of legal professionals; experience managing outside counsel is a plus. Demonstrated collaboration skills and client-service orientation, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr KPMG US
