Job Summary: The College Corner Staff works to ensure the College Corner runs smoothly and effectively. This position is responsible for working in each facet of the Family Source Center’s Youth Program, including Parent Promise, Summer Learning Program, Tutoring and College Corner. 

Reports To: Dr. Angela Parker, Director of Community Engagement and Education

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Helps to facilitate workshops and trainings for the youth department.
• Participates in outreach to ensure youth in the community are aware of our services and participate in programming.
• Builds relationships with students, families, schools, faith-based agencies, and community-based organizations to ensure referrals.
• Assists with the Summer Learning Program.
• Assists with the tutoring program for youth ages K-12.
• Helps graduating high school students with information and resources needed to attend college, including assisting with completion of college applications, and applying for financial assistance, SAT/ACT preparation and coordinating campus tours.
• Help middle school and high school students navigate the path to college and provide core academic support in A-G courses.
• Facilitate trainings for students who are interested in non-traditional education opportunities.
• And other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be a current college student or a recent college graduate . Must support Jenesse’s mission and philosophy. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to work in your allotted hours. Must have the skill set to provide tutoring in English and math for youth in grades K-12. Must be able to function within a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Should be a creative problem-solver and able to multitask. Must have proof of US citizenship or authorization to work, as well as reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license, and proof of state-required insurance. 

Salary Range: $18 - $26 an hour
