The Dispatcher II role involves directing and servicing customer call-ins, dispatching drivers as needed, and preparing reports using a computer-based ticketing system. The position reports directly to the Field Supervisor and/or District Manager and plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
Takes call-ins from customers and records loads turned in;
Dispatches loads to appropriate drivers;
Corrects issues with driver’s logs in Xata application;
Schedule drivers/trucks to meter provings and trucks;
May sort run tickets, DOT logs and other office paperwork;
Use computer to hand enter loads called in, loads dispatched to drivers and any other required data related to dispatch;
Uses Computer to look up lease numbers, tank numbers, leases by name, operator number, barrel flow by destination, tickets by ticket number and by destination;
Dispatchers are also responsible for staying up to date with lease severances relating to State Oil and Gas Boards approval to haul;
Prepares morning reports related to over 48 hours, dropped loads, loads hauled, and any other reports related to dispatch or company business;
Track and file reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
Extensive interaction with customers relating to call-ins, coordinating leases to be hauled in a timely manner, ensuring that special instructions about leases are recorded and disseminated and resolving disputes over tickets;
Fully qualified to perform edits and corrections;
Perform other duties as assigned and relevant to operations of the company; and
Demonstrate a positive impact by promoting safety in decisions and actions.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Ability to speak, read and write in English;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Interacts with the public, management, marketing and drivers;
Great customer and personal relations skills required;
Strong quantitative and analytical skills;
Basic math, keyboard skills, and knowledge of office procedures with responsible work habits;
Utilizes 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone system, copy, fax machines and computers;
Demonstrates conceptual thinking, strong planning, coordinating, problem solving skills, and multitasking abilities; and
Office environment, low physical activity, some light lifting.
Compensation:
The pay range for this role is $26.04/hr - $30.64/hr USD depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
