Job Description
Freakin Fitness is seeking a dynamic and motivated Gym Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure a positive experience for all members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive community. This role also includes coaching classes, providing hands-on training, and engaging with members to promote a healthy lifestyle.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Facility Management:**
- Oversee daily gym operations, including cleanliness, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Manage gym staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. **Member Engagement:**
- Build and maintain relationships with members, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Develop and implement member retention strategies to enhance member satisfaction.
- Organize community events and challenges to foster a sense of belonging.
3. **Program Development:**
- Plan, organize, and coach fitness classes, ensuring high-quality instruction and member participation.
- Develop and update class schedules based on member feedback and trends in fitness.
4. **Sales and Marketing:**
- Promote gym services, programs, and memberships to potential members.
- Collaborate with marketing to create promotional materials and campaigns.
- Monitor membership sales and retention metrics, adjusting strategies accordingly.
5. **Financial Management:**
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for the gym’s financial performance.
- Manage inventory and equipment procurement.
- Monitor expenses and revenue to meet financial goals.
6. **Coaching Duties:**
- Conduct group fitness classes and personal training sessions as needed.
- Provide members with fitness assessments, goal setting, and individualized training plans.
- Stay updated on industry trends and certifications to enhance coaching skills.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in gym management or a similar role.
- Certified personal trainer (CPT) or group fitness instructor certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, USAW, CFLvl1).
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in gym management software and basic financial management.
