Responsibilities

As a Steel Detailer, your key responsibility will be to serve as a vital team member of the Steel Division Project Team whose goal is the completion of projects on time, under budget, and with quality that exceeds the expectations of F.A. Wilhelm and our Clients.

This position requires you to work in an office environment, full-time. No hybrid or remote work available.

• Collaborate with the steel team, engineering team, clients, and other departments to develop a clear understanding of the required specifications and overall design.
• Review and study structural and architectural drawings of the project then produce fabrication and erection drawings using SDS, Tekla or other software.
• Utilize your knowledge of loads and how they transfer throughout a structure.
• Familiarity with Heavy Structural Steel industry detailing standards.
• RFI creation, implementation, and coordination.

What it takes

• 4+ years of Steel Detailer experience.
• SDS and/or Tekla utilization experience; Wilhelm uses Tekla for their drafting/detailing software
• Superior understanding of structural steel and miscellaneous iron, including stairs and rails.
